This role involves helping to design and develop the front and back end of the Rootshell Prism Platform, while finding the balance between showing enough dynamic information on the screen to be useful, while not overloading the user so it becomes confusing.

The application is built in PHP/Laravel/Vue so knowledge of these frameworks is required.

Rootshell Security are an information security company looking for a developer to join our development team to help build our Prism platform. Prism is designed to show the results of penetration tests and automated scans while allowing clients to track remediation, upload third party results, export results, etc.

The team is fairly new so you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape how it grows along with assisting in creating new processes such as code deployment, infrastructure setup, etc. We are a small team with a strong emphasis on knowledge sharing and learning on the go which combined with a flexible/non-bureaucratic work environment creates a fun opportunity to build something from scratch while having a real impact on its outcome.

Role Responsibilities:

– Designing and developing new features for the Prism application with a strong focus on UX
– Work closely with project manager to understand technical/functionality requirements and use system APIs
– Communicate with the team to discuss best design taking into account technical requirements but suggesting trade-offs if they would affect the user experience
– Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to build out the design
– Provide recommendations and help with expanding processes such as unit testing, workflow policies, etc


Your Experience:

– 2+ years of development experience required
– Proficient in Laravel/PHP/Vue
– Strong portfolio to be presented with a focus on dynamic content applications
– Strong skills in HTML, CSS, Javascript
– Willingness to learn new skills and share current knowledge
– Comfortable using Git for source code control
– Familiarity with penetration testing/blue team environments an advantage
– Experience in AWS deployment would be useful
– Experience working in agile/scrum development process a bonus
