The Automation Centre, part of The Rootshell Platform’s latest update, makes it possible to add business context to your vulnerability data, making it even easier to prioritize and remediate what matters most to your organization.

Automate Based on Business Context

CVSS scores only tell part of the story of an issue’s severity. Without contextualizing vulnerabilities in line with an organization’s unique context, teams are overloaded with issues to remediate with no sense of what to prioritize.

Rootshell’s Automation Centre enables teams to create automations that contextualize their issues, filtering their vulnerability data and aiding prioritization.

For example, the severity of an issue will differ significantly depending on whether it affects internal or external infrastructure. An exploit that exists behind a firewall is likely to be less critical than an exploit on a public facing asset.

In this case, a user could create an automation rule for a specific internal project, which lowers the severity score of vulnerabilities from critical to high, assigns a user and adds a tag of internal for easy tracking throughout Rootshell.

This adds much needed context and helps teams identify and focus on the issues that are the highest risk to them.

Easily Automate Repetitive Tasks

Rootshell’s Automation Centre allows you to easily automate a range of vulnerability management activities, reducing time-consuming repetitive tasks, and ensuring important issues are never missed.

Service desk tickets can now be automatically created and assigned to users or teams, vulnerability severity scores can be adjusted to reflect new information or changing business context, and tags can be assigned to better organize your data.

Your team are able to recoup significant time to reinvest in mission-critical tasks.

The example below shows how simple it is to create a rule that raises a Jira ticket when a Critical-rated vulnerability is found on external assets.Prism Platofrm Automation Center Trigger Severity Assign
